pastoral care at st patrick's gordon
St Patrick's is fortunate to have attained a School Chaplaincy Grant and has for the past six years had the services of a qualified Pastoral Care Worker in our school for one day each week. Vivian Lunt is our Pastoral Care Worker and she is employed through Centacare Ballarat. Vivian works with individual children on request, with class groups, with parents and staff to ensure we all are happy and healthy. Vivian conducts group sessions on resilience, anti-bullying, building friendships, dealing with difficult situations etc. Parents are able to access this service by completing a form at the office or by contacting Vivian directly.

peaceful kids
The 'Peaceful Kids'program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children from Prep through to Year 12.
This program helps children to build their emotional resilience, teaches them to self calm and empowers them to manage their anxiety, so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses that life brings them. It is important that our children know that they are not alone when suffering from anxiety. Sessions are run in small groups of 4-6 children, for 45 mins over an 8 week period. In this safe environment we teach the children a range of mindfulness strategies, meditations and positive psychology exercises. |
